Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has brushed aside reports of a supposed political alliance between the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), dismissing the claims as nothing more than “political 419.”
Speaking with journalists during an inspection tour of ongoing road projects in Gomani-Yangoje, located within the Kwali Area Council, Wike did not hold back as he criticized what he described as attempts to mislead Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The former Rivers State governor specifically accused Seyi Makinde of creating confusion with suggestions that the PDP and APM were preparing to work together politically.
Wike argued that the rumored alliance lacked credibility and substance, insisting that such political narratives were designed to distract the public and stir unnecessary speculation within the opposition camp.
The comments come as political maneuvering and behind-the-scenes negotiations continue to intensify ahead of the next election cycle, with parties and power blocs already positioning themselves for 2027.
Meanwhile, Wike combined politics with governance during the visit, using the opportunity to inspect road construction projects in the area while reaffirming the FCT administration’s commitment to infrastructure development across Abuja.
His remarks have since sparked conversations within political circles, especially among supporters of both the PDP and APM, as Nigerians continue to watch how alliances and rivalries may shape the road to the next general elections.
