The Ogun State Police Command has disclosed that the prime suspect in the killing of ex-OGTV broadcaster Kitan Oyesiku and her guard Pelumi Adetayo said he orchestrated the plan to “teach her a lesson.”
State Commissioner of Police Bode Ojajuni revealed this during a press briefing at Eleweran, Abeokuta. A note discovered in the recovered Lexus RX300 vehicle served as a major lead.
Prime suspect Sodeinde Olajuwon Philip, 22, was arrested on June 24 at a construction site in Ibara. Two other suspects were arrested: Sakirudeen Abdulraheem Ayoola, 27, a security guard, and Sobu Obafunsho, 36, a bricklayer.
Philip confessed to coordinating the attack due to grievances while working as Oyesiku’s security guard. The attack occurred on June 20, 2026, in the afternoon.
Exhibits recovered include a broken hammer, cutlass, plank and black pen. Investigation is ongoing to ensure diligent prosecution.
