Abuja – The Independent National Electoral Commission confirmed recognition of Senator David Mark-led African Democratic Congress leadership, with 471 candidates nominated for 2027 elections including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar for the presidential ticket.
INEC National Commissioner Mohammed Haruna confirmed the Mark faction submitted candidates for presidential, senatorial, and House of Representatives constituencies. The ADC has called for investigation and prosecution of factional leader Nafiu Gombe over alleged false claims regarding candidate submissions.
A Court of Appeal ruling on state congresses, while affirming lower court decisions, does not affect the validity of already-nominated candidates.
